Rabbit Shows
We enjoy attending several shows each year, both the competing and the people we see and meet there! Rabbit shows are generally fairly low-key, at least compared to horse shows and dog shows we've been involved in in the past (!), and make for nice day-trips. To see the shows we are planning to attend during the current and (late in the year) next year, go to our Show Plans page. To see the results from the shows we have already attended, see our Show Results page. And, to get general information about rabbit shows, see our About Rabbit Shows page.
When looking at the show results, the following information will help interpret the shorthand used:
Show-related Terms
BIS - Best in Show
BOB - Best of Breed
BOS - Best Opposite Sex (to BOB)
BOV - Best of Variety
BOSV - Best Opposite Sex (to BOV)
"Leg" - Certain show wins qualify as a "leg" toward a Grand Championship. When a rabbit earns 3 legs,
ARBA awards a Grand Championship to that rabbit. To qualify as leg, a win must be in a class of
at least 5 rabbits with at least 3 different exhibitors. A BOB win, for example, only qualifies as a leg
if there are 5 or more rabbits shown in the breed by 3 or more exhibitors; a BOS win only qualifies if
there are 5 or more rabbits shown of the same sex, in that breed and 3 exhibitors.
